Swiss: Salary System
As of 1 January, 2023, implementation rules concerning the salary system came into effect for several functions at Swiss Technics. Specifically, there are salary curves for these functions, which show employees how development within the wage band should take an employee's experience into account. Employees in the (former) TC section argue that they, too, should receive a salary curve. In a month-long procedure with several meetings, we have not been able to negotiate a salary curve for these employees. However, our demand for full transparency of the salary structure of those affected has been successful. Based on the results, Swiss also considers it absolutely necessary to check the classification of at least five people. We will be informed about the results in a report. It is evident that Swiss is still struggling to establish a fair salary system. Analytical evaluations are still insufficient. The company's only justification for adjustments are benchmark comparisons. However, this fails to recognise that the risks of market volatility should generally not be transferred to employees as they are already vulnerable to the "costs of everyday life". After all, it turns out that the fight for the required transparency has positive effects!
Swissport Zurich: Inflation Compensation Capped?
Swissport Zurich still refuses to provide a fair compensation for inflation. In Zurich, the global industry leader in ground handling barely complies with minimum commitments of the CLA when it comes to inflation compensation – this behaviour not going to be sustainable in the long run!
