Swiss Backing Down: Crisis CLA Until the End of 2022 at the Latest
Swissport Zurich: Crisis CLA Terminated by Trade Unions
Dear Colleagues
Air traffic might be facing chaos this summer. While the business is booming due to a large number of passengers, the industry is forced to thin out the offer due to staff shortages. The consequences are misjudgements and flawed plans by management.
Swiss Backing Down
SEV-GATA clearly declared that the "Crisis CLA" could not legally come into effect on 1 March 2022. Now Swiss is communicating that it will only apply it until the end of 2022 (instead of the end of 2023). Modalities should be clarified with us in a timely manner. SEV-GATA will examine whether and how this will affect the ongoing preparation of the lawsuit. In particular, the cancellation of one-third of the 13th month's salary and the refusal of the performance bonus of 0.75 % caused serious holes in many monthly budgets. The lawsuit concerning the violation of the consultation obligations in the event of mass layoffs is pending before the court.
The behaviour of Swiss management in recent months exceeded even the volatility of air traffic. It would be good if a proper management finally took control again, pursuing long-term perspectives, so that the employees in aviation can see prospects with fair working conditions. We still have a lot of work to do.
Swissport Zurich: Crisis CLA Terminated by Trade Unions
Since there seemed to be no hope for an amicable settlement, the trade unions have terminated the Crisis CLA. Our members also demanded this by voting. Now, it is important to work with commitment and solidarity to ensure that our legitimate demands are finally met: return to the CLA19, regulation of inflation compensation and improvement of the work-life balance, including more days off.
We will not forget this summer. We look forward to your support of our actions so that YOUR working conditions finally do justice to YOUR dignity. You will receive further information.
In order for your legitimate demands to become a reality, we need the membership of many colleagues. The SEV-GATA Executive Committee has therefore decided that we will extend our promotion for a double advertising bonus (CHF 100.00) until the end of September 2022.
Individual committed colleagues have recruited more than a dozen new members – which is important for trade union success, in the interest of solidarity, and a welcome boost for the wallet of the advertising colleagues.
