- Swiss: Wage Increase in 2020 and Regulated Wage Development Within the Wage Band
- Reorganisation
- Calendar Campaign 2019
Dear Colleagues
Autumn is always the season for wage negotiations. Negotiations with several social partners in the aviation industry are still in progress, but we have already reached an agreement with Swiss.
Swiss: Wage Increase in 2020 and Regulated Wage Development Within the Wage BandWage negotiations for Swiss groundstaff in Switzerland have been completed successfully. The following changes will take effect on 1 January 2020:
- Increase of the total payroll by 1.8% as of 1.1.2020, consisting of two components:
- CHF 60.— per month / FTE for all employees
- Increase of wage bands by CHF 60.— at a minimum and maximum
- 0.8% for the development of wage bands according to the new agreement (matrix) - The social partners will receive an implementation report by 25 February 2020.
As a result of several intense workshops, the social partners have agreed upon a new system for wage development within wage bands. The goal is to display the individual part of wage rounds in a transparent and sensible system. The system will first be applied in this year’s wage round, starting on 1.1.2020.
What is new is that individual wage adaptions will now be based on so-called “wage units”. The scope of individual wage adaptions depends, firstly, on the current position within a given wage band (lower wages are developed further than higher ones), and secondly, on the results of the last Employee Appraisal Talk EAT (a better appraisal leads to a higher wage increase).

* Maximum development cannot exceed the maximum of the corresponding wage band. If no EAT is at hand, an EAT 3 will be assumed. |
Individual wage increases will be calculated using the salary unit’s value multiplied with the units granted according to the above table. In 2020, the value of a salary unit amounts to CHF 16.30.
