2018: A year full of challenges
Swissport Geneva: Wage increase
Preannouncement: SEV-GATA General Meeting
Recruitment: Members recruiting members
Dear colleagues
Inequality within the aviation industry is on the rise. Some airlines, as for example Swiss, make huge profits, whereas others suffer from the high pressure on margins. The latter is also the case for several “other suppliers”. Our colleagues at Air Berlin have learned the meaning of the word “grounding” the hard way. Financial investors gain more and more control over the entire sector.
Swissport ZRH: CLA negotiations
As was announced in 2017, the CLA with Swissport Zurich is being renegotiated this year. Our preparations for the process management of this project have already shown that there is a lot of potential for development at Swissport. We are curious to see where this will lead and we will, of course, keep you informed.
Swissport GVA: Wage increase
We succeeded in concluding our pay talks with Swissport Geneva before the start of the new year. The result: Full-time employees will receive a one-time bonus of CHF 400 (to be adjusted according to the degree of employment for employees with either monthly or hourly wages).
Preannouncement of SEV-GATA General Meeting
Our 2018 General Meeting will take place on Thursday, 17 May 2018, at approx. 5:30 pm in Zurich – more detailed information is to follow. The meeting is a great opportunity to get to know each other and to discuss current issues.
Members recruiting new members
A high degree of organisation is crucial to the success of any negotiation.
If you – as a member – recruit a new member, your benefits are twofold: Firstly, our union becomes stronger and we can enforce our interests more easily. Secondly, you will receive a reward of CHF 50 for every new member you recruit. Thus: Talk to your colleagues! It will help all of us to make progress together.
SEV-GATA will continue to fight for the legitimate claims of its members and you are an important part of our success story. Thank you!
Best wishes,
Philipp Hadorn, President
